    The calamari sharing plate was excellent, and more than adequate for 2 people. Unfortunately they had run out of the lamb samosas. The main course line fish of the day Cob was also very good. When we questioned the quality of the wine, the maitre d’ tasted it himself and agreed it wasn’t the best. Immediately replaced it with another bottle, which tasted completely different (and much better). Waited quite a while in between the starter course and the main course, as they were very busy (Wednesday evening during the Varsity week).

    Amazing service received from MC. He was patient, friendly and professional. The entire experience was once again great - food, management attentiveness and ambiance. I love the dining room design, look and feel. Thank you!

    Evening was enjoyable- but the music was exceptionally loud in terms of the venue size and people attending. We struggled to talk around the table as the volume was so loud & this really impacted the meal and experience. The food quality and plating was average in comparison to restaurants in the area - however value for money was excellent. The Front of house staff was incompetent on arrival, but the waiters were very professional and gave us good service. Decor for a Valentines evening was confusing as Sun Flower arrangements are not very romantic nor does it fit in with the occasion - but at least they tried. The bench seating is extremely uncomfortable for the length of the evening. Would be hesitant to recommend the restaurant to friends. * I would rather pay a more expensive cover charge & or higher rate per head and get the decor and food on par with other top restaurants in the area - ‘ A good effort.. but not good enough in the competitive food scene available in Stellenbosch’
