The Brass Bell Restaurants and Pubs, located in the trendy harbour town of Kalk Bay, is situated in False Bay, one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Surrounded by the rolling waves, the restaurant complex of terraced dining areas, is nestled into the tidal pool walls, and offers visitors an unforgettable and truly unique seaside dining experience. Built in 1939, the Brass Bell’s humble beginning as a council-run “Tea Room” is a far cry from the bustling complex of waterfront dining venues that it is today.

Brass Bell’s owner, Tony White has pioneered the ongoing development of the Brass Bell Restaurants and Pubs, and together with his dynamic hospitality team, has turned the Brass Bell from a once quaint seaside bistro into a beloved household name, boasting an impressive series of 9 different dining and events venues.

The location and splendour of this magical place has captured the imagination and hearts of tourists and locals alike, and it is now a world renowned and well-loved hotspot; welcoming guests with our warm hospitality and superb menu selections.

We had THE absolute worst waiter we’ve ever had. Super unfriendly, never came back to the table to see if everything was OK - didn’t come and ask about any more drinks or dessert or anything. We will NEVER go back to Brass Bell!! Never. I complained about him and NOTHING was done!!

We made a reservation but we were not on their list. So that was weird. We ordered the chicken salad. Afterwards we both got sick. I think something was wrong with food. So we wil not go there again.

Good day, We had lunch at Brass Bell on Sunday 22 December and did not have a good overall experience. The Food was poorly prepared. We had the calamari main - the paprika spice on top was not cooked - it looked as if there was no care applied in the preparation of the dish. I also ordered the seafood linguine. This was eatable - however the spice was also not cooked thoroughly. And the seafood was not defrosted before being prepared/cooked. The food experience was not good. I was also shocked to see - that we were charged R35 for a soft drink - imagine that. When we entered the restaurant, initially we wanted to sit in the dining area as you enter - however there was no space. We opted for the dining area to the left. We were seated at the window - however - there was a terrible smell and we asked to move and our waiter assisted with this. A positive and pleasant experience was with our waiter, Simpiwe. He apologized for the smell and assisted us to move our table. In terms of the Ambience - the restaurant is in grave need of upgrades. the rust and wear of the tables, chairs, decor and walls is notacible. I really cannot recommend the brass bell in good conscious. the food quality and selection is poor, the restaurant is in need of an update in terms of maintenance. the plus side is that you may get a good waiter. Thank you

Anniversary Dinner family 6 people service was very slow. Some of the prawns ordered was raw. Mussels were not the same had a bitter taste. Top it off they overcharged on my bill R450 rand. I always check. Not a good experience.
