The chic Double Tree by Hilton Cape Town Upper Eastside Hotel - Liberty's Restaurant offers an extensive a la carte menu and all-day dining in a discreetly glamorous atmosphere. Having spent 15 years honing his culinary talents across Europe and South Africa, executive chef Simon Kemp has made the Liberty's kitchen his creative home. Experimenting with a fusion-style menu, Simon is also a master at the traditional: his handmade burgers are legendary.

Should you have specific dietary requirements, please do let us know – with advance warning, Simon can ensure that there is something that meets these requirements. Simon is also available to discuss your catering requirements for business conferencing or special events held at DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town Eastside, and will also prepare a tailormade menu for guests wanting to entertain small groups in the loft suites.

    As a vegetarian the starter and main choices were somewhat limited, however the sides and quality more than compensated for this. The endamane beans and sweet harissa roasted cauliflower were outstanding amd beautifully presented. Sauces maketh a meal and all were incredible. For the meat eaters, the bourbon butter out of this world. Our waitress was professional with a delightful sense of humour. Our party of 4 really enjoyed the evening, thank you Bistro 31.

    Great Valentines Day dinner. Would have liked a better variety for the main course but other than that everything was great. Our waiter Monique was fantastic and her service added a great wow factor to our experience!

    The menu was not up to the standard I was expecting

    There I was at the 11th hour looking for a romantic place to go for Vday... it's fully booked everywhere I want to take my Valentine. Cupid strikes and I find Bistro31 ♡ and manage to get a booking! We get there and WOW, the atmosphere was amazing but it gets better... we're greeted by Monique. She was friendly, funny and kind. The food (chef's kiss). Each course got better and better. Keep in mind I find fault with almost everything. What a hidden gem. I'm defs telling all my friends! The night turned out amazing, thanks to everyone at Bistro31

    Excellent service from the staff, constant check in to make sure that everything is still fine. The food is so delicious and affordable

    Inside a massive 'tourbus' hotel so not the greatest ambiance. Under staffed. Food somewhat over-priced - smaller portions. Had better fish tacos elsewhere

    Who would have thought that the Double Tree Hilton in Woodstock even existed... and actually has a nice Bistro. Not sure if the ambiance would be as nice during the day... Our hostess Monique was outstanding.

    Parking was easy. Big tick. The service by our waitress was outstanding, she was attentive but not intrusive, a sense of humour and very efficient. Thank you, Monique. Our food was very good. The starter we had - I would certainly go back for. Mains had excellent flavours and very enjoyable. No space for dessert but we were brought a chocolate chip, nut and coconut cookie. Oh my word, I would purchase a bag of those. Only slight hiccup was that my selection of wine was not available, and I had to opt for a Chenin Blanc but still good. The ambience let this experience down. very hotel like, which of course it is but a little stiff. I believe they are going through a revamp so we will definitely go back when revamp overall, a lovely experience.
