Excellent service. Excellent, traditional, flavourful Portuguese food! Mozambique prawns an absolute must. Grilled to perfection, and the quality is incomparable. Overseas visitors were blown away by this little gem in the heart of Big Bay.

No Super Bock and no Casal Garcia (vinho verde) was an unfortunate start - 2 Portuguese favorites and very obvious choices to keep in stock. Waiter seemed to forget about us more than once and we were brought other people's food by another waiter. But waiter was pleasant and seemed to be trying hard. Food was fantastic.

Baia Grande Portuguese Restaurant responded on Wed 18 Dec 24:
Hi Dennis, Thanks for your feeback. With Respect to the Casal Garcia, its back in stock, however the waiter should have suggested alternative Vinho Verde wine as we have Gatao, Gazela and others all of which are comperatble to Casal Garcia in terms of price. Super Bok will be arriving soon.

This restaurant has been on my bucket list for a while and because we stayed in the area thos weekend we booked. Beautiful setting, good service and quality food. Hubby and I had the Beef Trinchado( loved the sauce)and Chourizo for starters. We ordered the drunken prawns, the menu said 6 - 8 depending on size, we got 10 huge prawns with a garlic butter rice, wow it was absolutely delicious. We were hoping to have pasteis de Nata , but we were too full. The Puca Roupa Sauvignon Blanc, just rounded off the meal beautifully. Bought some as take away and a bottle of Casa Garcia. In 5 months time we leave for a holiday to Portugal, but today made me feel like I was there already
