The arrival of winter brings the joy of comfort food and, to many, the wintery classics seen on bistro menus across France reign supreme.

The Bistro at Brookdale Estate, winner of the 2023 Dineplan Reviewers’ Choice Newcomer Award, has just launched its new winter menu, featuring comforting bistro classics with a touch of South African heritage.

Pastry Chef Marinèsha Moore has skilfully added a taste of South African culture to the dessert menu with her light and fluffy milk tart soufflé served with a boozy rum crème anglaise, alongside classics like tiramisu, warm apple strudel with a scoop of spiced honeycomb gelato, and a cheeseboard.

The new winter menu is available for lunch (Wednesday to Sunday) and dinner (Friday and Saturday). Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Tasting Room next door to taste the Brookdale and Mason Road wines.

Thursday “Fire & Wine” nights

Date: Every Thursday evening from 23 May 2024
Time: 18h00 – 21h00

Starting on the 23rd of May, the Bistro will host “Fire & Wine” evenings every Thursday. Gather around the fire and enjoy a selection of dishes prepared by the chefs on the grill, with the option to pair your meal with a glass of Mason Road wine.

The menu changes weekly, featuring the likes of fresh grilled prawns or succulent steaks. Be sure to check their Dineplan booking calendar to see what’s on offer each week.

Join the team for their first Fire & Wine night on Thursday, 23 May, where they’ll be grilling prawns over the hot coals and pairing them with a crisp glass of the Mason Road Chenin Blanc. Prices start at R260 for six prawns and go up to R620 for 18, excluding side dishes.
