Beyond food
Besides its food offerings, La Motte invites visitors to explore the estate’s many offerings. Wine lovers will be spoilt for choice when it comes to vintage wines. Set against the backdrop of the estates cellar, the space extends to the veranda overlooking the gardens, making it the perfect spot to slow down and celebrate the art of winemaking.
For unique keepsakes, the farm shop, curated by Berdine Swart of The Apiary Studio, showcases South African craftsmanship. Where shoppers can browse artisan-made treasures like handwoven linens, bespoke kitchenware, and locally sourced pottery.
And, for the art lovers, the Ateljee is a vibrant space that celebrates creativity and craftsmanship. The first exhibition, themed “Sharing That Which Brings Great Joy,” features painting, ceramics, and textile art. Visitors can engage with artists, watch their processes, and even participate in workshops and events.
