The best new additions to Dineplan – as voted for by you!

by | 28 October 2022

In our newly-released 2022 Reviewers’ Choice Awards, we listed 100 of the most-loved restaurants in South Africa. While winners have to be using Dineplan for the full evaluation period, there are some impressive newcomers already making waves in the short space of time that they’ve been with us.

Here’s our list of the best ‘new to Dineplan’ restaurants around the country – as voted for by you, their guests!

Western Cape:

Representing the Western Cape, and the Winelands in particular, Dineplan recently welcomed Stettyn Family Vineyards and Rykaart’s Stellenbosch. Stettyn is further afield, and along with their stellar wine, they serve a select menu of cheese, charcuterie and snacks. Rykaart’s, a small family-run eatery in Stellenbosch central, features a menu that showcases local and seasonal ingredients.

Also in Stellenbosch, is Post & Pepper, which is already being recognised for its refined rotation of sharing and set menu offerings. Le Siemma Café Bistrot is another Stellenbosch establishment receiving a number of positive reviews for their plates of classic French fare.

In Cape Town central, One Park is a listening bar serving an interesting curation of small dishes, intended to share and fantastic cocktails.

Gauteng:

In Gauteng, we also welcome top-performing newcomers such as Lupa Osteria in Little Falls, known for their hearty, homestyle Roman cuisine. Insights at Sanctuary Mandela, in Houghton, is keeping the memory of Madiba’s love for food alive and serves as a tribute to his favourite dishes.

Meanwhile Alēia, in Pretoria, is already racking up reviews for its unpretentious approach to food and wine. Boksburg’s Bar Q Grill is a family-friendly spot, much loved for its simple, wood-fired dishes. And ZEN’s Asian-inspired menu is drawing in the crowds in Sandton’s CBD.

KZN:

Looking at Kwa-Zulu Natal – and beyond – The Black Rabbit hit the ground running with its fuss-free brasserie feel. Both Skyfall’s fine dining and casual eateries have garnered the attention of diners in the Midlands.

While Fireroom at Zimbali’s punchy, fusion flavours are being well-received on the Dolphin Coast, and Trattoria La Terrazza is loved for its idyllic spot on the Southbroom estuary and al-fresco style, Italian dining.

Despite their recent addition to the platform, these restaurants received over 2,000 reviews collectively. To have your say in next year’s list – and see more newcomers cement their positions – be sure to rate and review your experience after every reservation booked through Dineplan.
